Local Dallas native, Doug Burr, also played a set at the Museum of Modern Arts "Modern 'til Midnight" show on Friday night. Doug's new album, 'On Promenade', dropped on October 9th - and his set focused on the new material. Channeling Tom Waits (and a little Ryan Adams), Doug Burr brings a classic sense of storytelling to his almost-gravelly songs - the familiar subjects of heartbreak and hope. Live, Doug brought a full-band to the show - with nice guitar interplay and backing vocals, over the building drums and bass.
My personal favorite - Last Promenade.
